Experience the Remote Wilderness of Rupinala Pass Trek

Nestled in the heart of the central Himalayan range in Nepal, the Rupinala Pass Trek offers one of the most scenic camping treks in the region. This historic route once served as a summer trade corridor between Tibet and Nepal, adding a unique cultural layer to the natural beauty you will encounter. Although not an extremely high pass, crossing Rupinala in winter can be technically challenging, making the ideal trekking months April, May, September, and October, when the weather is more favorable.

Our fully supported expert trekking team will be with you every step of the way, providing all necessary gear and food to ensure a seamless and memorable adventure. Whether you marvel at the awe-inspiring landscapes or experience the traditional route once traversed by traders, the Rupinala Pass Trek promises an unforgettable Himalayan journey.

Rupinala - Less Trodden Route

From Kathmandu, our journey begins with a drive to Barpak, a picturesque Gurung village known for its rich heritage. Many villagers have served in the renowned British Gorkha Regiment. The trek kicks off with a hike to Dharche Hill, where panoramic mountain views await. From here, we follow the ridge, enjoying breathtaking vistas as we progress.

Continuing along the spectacular foothills, we ascend towards the base camp above the tree line, where our trek crew sets up camp. Tents are fixed for your stay, and a skilled cook prepares delicious meals while you enjoy the dramatic mountain scenery surrounding you.

Crossing the Rupinala Pass is a challenging but enriching experience. The pass offers untouched, awe-inspiring views of the Himalayas that are unlike any other. From there, we make our way to the Boudha Himal base camp, crossing the massive glaciers of the Rani and Gorkha peaks. The stunning vistas of these glaciated landscapes are a rare and magnificent sight, providing a truly unique Himalayan trekking experience.

Lower Manaslu Camping Hike in the Himalayas

After days of navigating through the wilderness, we finally reach Nyak, a village perched on the ridge high above the Budi Gandaki Valley. The trail leading down to the valley is somewhat challenging, making the descent quite strenuous. However, walking becomes much more comfortable and pleasant once we join the main path.

Our trek concludes as we descend to the banks of the Budigandaki River, where we board a bus for the drive back to Kathmandu. The Rupinala Pass Trek is truly a strenuous yet spectacular wilderness adventure that offers a rare and unspoiled experience of the Himalayas. It is an excellent opportunity for adventure enthusiasts seeking a camping trek in a remote region. Exploring these lesser-known routes in the lower Manaslu area provides an unforgettable adventure that promises to be a once-in-a-lifetime journey for all who take it on.
