Annapurna Panorama Trek: A Gentle Himalayan Adventure

The Annapurna Panorama Trek, famously known as the Poon Hill Trek, offers an exquisite blend of adventure and serenity, making it one of the finest short treks in Nepal. This delightful teahouse journey reveals sweeping vistas of some of the most majestic Himalayan peaks. Following the circular trail through Ghandruk and Ghorepani, you will traverse lush forests and charming mountain villages with timeless beauty. Ideally suited for families, even with young adventurers, this trek is an ideal way to experience natural grandeur in a relaxed and accessible way.

Poon Hill Hike - Easy adventure in Annapurna

The Annapurna Panorama Trek is a haven for nature enthusiasts seeking beauty and serenity. After immersing yourself in the cultural treasures of Kathmandu, you will journey to Pokhara, a picturesque lakeside city and a beloved holiday destination. Here, you will have time to unwind and explore before beginning your adventure.

The trek takes you at a gentle pace through enchanting villages like Ghandruk, Tatopani, and Ghorepani. With no extreme altitudes to conquer, this trek eliminates the risk of acute mountain sickness, making it a comfortable yet exhilarating experience. You will walk through lush rainforests of oak and rhododendron, surrounded by the natural splendor of the Himalayas.

A morning hike to Poon Hill is the crowning jewel of the journey. From this renowned vantage point, you witness a breathtaking panorama of 8000-meter peaks, including Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Manaslu. The iconic, sharp silhouette of Machhapuchhare, the Fishtail peak, completes the awe-inspiring scene before you return to Pokhara.

When to Trek: Best Season and Winter Feasibility

Spring and Autumn are the prime seasons for the Annapurna Panorama Trek, offering the most breathtaking views and ideal trekking conditions. For those seeking a quieter experience, winter provides a serene alternative, free from the bustling crowds. This low-altitude hike to Poon Hill can be tailored to your preferences, ensuring a seamless adventure no matter the season. For an even more enriching journey, consider extending your trip with a jungle safari or an exhilarating white-water rafting experience.
