All visitors except Indian nationals must hold a passport and valid visa to enter Nepal. Nepal Visas can be obtained at Nepalese embassies or consulates abroad. Nepal entry Visas are also issued at entry points like Kathmandu International Airport upon arrival. Children under ten years old do not need to pay any visa fee. People willing to get a Nepal Visa must complete the visa form online with a passport photograph.
Nepal Tourist Visa (Multiple Entry) Duration and Fees

We suggest all of our guests fill out the online Nepal visa application form before taking a flight to Kathmandu if they plan to get the Nepal entry visa on arrival at Kathmandu airport. After filling out the online Nepal visa form, you can get the reference number, which is valid for 15 days only. Once you have the visa reference number, you can pay the visa fees at Kathmandu airport. (Make sure to have US$ Cash to pay the visa fees.) Then, you can stay online to get the visa stamped with your passport and receipt of visa fees. This saves you time at Kathmandu airport when getting the Nepal entry visa.
Tourist Visa Extension
A visa extension fee for 15 days or less is US$30 or equivalent convertible currency, and a visa extension fee for more than 15 days is US$3 per day.
A tourist visa can be extended for 150 days in a single visa year (January - December).
Gratis (Free) Visa
- A Gratis visa for 30 days is available only to tourists from SAARC countries.
- Indian nationals do not require a visa to enter Nepal
Transit Visa
A transit visa for one day can be obtained from Nepal immigration offices at the entry points upon the production of departure flight tickets via Tribhuvan International Airport in Nepal by paying US$ 5 or equivalent convertible currency.
Note: The Nepal government gives visas on arrival to all nationalities except Nigeria, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Cameroon, Somalia, Liberia, and Ethiopia from the African continent and Iraq, Palestine, and Afghanistan from the Asia continent.
