Manaslu Trek: Last Hidden Treasure

The Manaslu Trek is a less-trodden and restricted journey. This 16-day trip to Manaslu Circuit is the last hidden treasure in Nepal. The route displays the stunning landscapes and rich culture together. It is the best alternative to the famous Annapurna region treks.

Hiking Manaslu Circuit with Larke Pass

This Manaslu trek in Nepal is a 16-day trip from arrival to departure. We hike from 600 to 5100 meters with diverse culture and topography. The adventure hike begins from Lapubesi after a drive from Kathmandu. We follow the meandering river of Budhi Gandaki. Hike to the Larke Pass presents a considerable challenge. The view from the top is breathtaking and awe-inspiring. Himlung, Larke, Annapurna and Majestic Manaslu peaks surround you. Crossing the Larke La, we reach Bhimtang on our way to Dharapani. It is a wide open valley amid parades of peaks. We drive out to Kathmandu via Besisahar to end the Manaslu hike. It is a journey of a once-in-a-lifetime experience that will leave you breathless.

Witness the Rich Tibetan Culture

Most of the Manaslu Circuit Trek takes place in a region known as Nupri. This region bears a significant Tibetan influence. It is a historical trade route between Nepal and Tibet. This Manaslu region in Nepal is home to some rare animals. It includes snow leopards, grey wolves, musk deer, Himalayan Thar, and blue sheep. It also displays a diverse range of ethnic groups with rich cultures. Magar and Chhetri communities inhabit the lower altitude regions. Tsumba and Nubri dominate the northern high region. A noticeable cultural shift occurs from Hindu to Buddhist as we ascend. We witness Mani Walls and Chortens instead of Temple and Ghats.

Adventure Preparation, Difficulty, and Safety

This Manaslu Circuit trek is challenging in its difficulty level. Trekkers must have a moderate to high level of physical fitness. Engaging in fitness training before the trek is beneficial. You can run, cycle, or do cardiovascular workouts to get fit. We carry a medical kit and portable Oxygen for safety. It is life-saving in case of Acute Mountain sickness.

What is the Best Time for this Journey in Nepal?

This Manaslu Circuit is best in Spring and Autumn, like most trekking routes. Spring from March to May showcases remarkable biodiversity. Autumn from September to November offers great visibility. Regrettably, winter and monsoon don't offer the good weather.
