You spend two nights on the nature excursion and proper acclimation. You follow the less-trodden trail to Dingboche via Monla and Phortse. Another two-night stay at Dingboche is needed for adequate acclimatization. Such rest days are crucial for a safe odyssey. The next day, you leave for Lobuche and then Gorakshep at 5164 meters. It is the last settlement before the base camp of Everest. From here, you will go to the landmark of Everest base camp to leave footprints. Hike to Kalapathar for the sunrise or sunset view of the Everest. A mesmerizing view of the mighty peak with the famous Khumbu Icefall. We recommend 3 to 4 weeks of trek preparation training exercises. Go for aerobics, walking, cycling, jogging, or Tai Chi. While getting physically fit, mental preparation must not be ignored.
What is the Best Time, Duration, and Distance for the EBC trek?
Spring, autumn, or fall are the best times to join on the Everest trek in Nepal. March to May of spring offers moderate temperatures and flowers in bloom. September to November of autumn offers a mild temperature. It gets relatively colder nights towards the end of the fall season. The early autumn season has a chance of sparse rain. December is a great month to venture to the Everest base camp. Winter offers clear blue skies, sunny days, and cold nights. One can have a good sleeping bag for cuddling on these chilly nights.
Two to three weeks is enough time to complete trekking to Everest base camp. It is 12 days of hiking for around 140 km from Lukla to Luka. Typically, it takes 16 days in Nepal from arrival to departure from Kathmandu.

The flight to Lukla depends on the air traffic at Kathmandu airport. We will likely take off from Ramechhap for Lukla during the busy season. This avoids air traffic at Kathmandu airport and flight delays.
